Pamela Rauch is the company’s first female vice president of development and external affairs for Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), one of the nation’s leading electric utilities. Ms. Rauch is responsible for oversight of the development of new power generation, local government relations, community relations, and economic development for FPL. She has held this position since January 2008.           Previously, she served as an associate general counsel for FPL, overseeing the real estate, land use and environmental group within the company’s General Counsel business unit, where she focused primarily on local government permitting and licensing issues for the company, including all real estate, permitting and licensing for new generation in Florida and development of its unregulated subsidiary’s wind portfolio. She joined the company in 1999.            Prior to joining FPL, Ms. Rauch served as an assistant and then deputy city attorney for the City of West Palm Beach, where she played a significant role in downtown redevelopment activities in the mid-1990s, including the development of City Place. Prior to her role with the City, she was in private practice with Jones, Foster, Johnston & Stubbs and Gunster in West Palm Beach with a concentration on local government and real estate law.            Ms. Rauch is a certified planner and a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. She is also board certified by the Florida Bar in city, county and local government law. Ms. Rauch serves as Chair of the Florida Chamber Foundation, Immediate Past Chair of the Palm Beach Zoo, and is a member of the Executive Committee for the Economic Council of Palm Beach County. She is also a member of Leadership Palm Beach County (1998) and Leadership Florida, Class XXVII. Ms. Rauch graduated from Florida State University College of Law, with honors, and earned undergraduate degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.         Florida Power & Light Company is the third-largest electric utility in the United States, serving more than 4.7 million customer accounts across nearly half of the state of Florida. As of year-end 2014, FPL’s typical 1,000-kWh residential customer bill is approximately 25 percent lower than the national average and the lowest in Florida among reporting utilities for the fifth year in a row. FPL’s service reliability is better than 99.98 percent, and its highly fuel-efficient power plant fleet is one of the cleanest among all utilities nationwide. The company was recognized in 2014 as the most trusted U.S. electric utility by Market Strategies International, and has earned the national ServiceOne Award for outstanding customer service for an unprecedented 10 consecutive years. A leading Florida employer with approximately 8,900 employees, FPL is a subsidiary of Juno Beach, Fla.-based NextEra Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NEE). For more information, visit www.FPL.com.
